Fun & Creativity

Art

Young children are natural artists and art projects can spark young imaginations and help children to express themselves. Scribbling also prepares them to use writing to express their ideas.

Music

Music ignites all areas of child development and skills for school readiness, including intellectual, social-emotional, motor, language, and overall literacy. It helps the body and the mind work together. Exposing children to music during early development helps them learn the sounds and meanings of words.

Movement

Children need opportunities to move in class. Memory and movement are linked, and the body is a tool of learning, not a roadblock or a detour away from it.

Language

Helping children build vocabulary and develop language skills to get what they need and want is a key teaching task in the early childhood classroom. So many important developmental tasks are tied to children’s ability to access and use language in the right ways at the right time. And, one of the most important predictors of children’s future success as readers is the size of their vocabulary at age five.

Mathematics

Math is important and it's important to help young children develop their mathematical thinking. A child's math knowledge at the start of kindergarten predicts later academic achievement better than early reading or attention skills. Math is part of children's everyday lives.

Indoor & Outside Play

Children are all about challenging themselves to do new and difficult things—pet a dog, climb some stairs, venture a little farther away from a caregiver and then return. Playing outside provides opportunities to run faster, climb higher, jump farther, and more—all under the watchful eye of a caring adult.

Our Curriculum

We are excited to introduce you to our new early-learning curriculum from Learning Beyond Paper.  Learning Beyond Paper is a research-based, classroom-tested curriculum for infants to Pre-K4.  As a social-constructivist curriculum, LB is designed to create learning opportunities for children through peer-based activities and intentional interactions with their teachers.  Our teachers will have full curriculum from tablets, providing real-time support for our little learners.
